The entrance to Priestgate now boasts a stunning heritage-inspired mural, completed in 2025 by acclaimed street artists Nathan Murdoch and Tony Nero in partnership with Peterborough Positive. Drawing from a 1930s watercolour by celebrated local artist Wilfrid René Wood, the artwork vividly reimagines the street as it once appeared, blending historical charm with contemporary street art. It follows the success of the Cowgate mural and other city centre projects, including tributes to The Beatles’ visit to Peterborough, the ‘Cowgate cows’, and vibrant walkway transformations. This latest piece is part of an ongoing effort to revitalise public spaces, connect people with the city’s past, and create colourful focal points for residents and visitors alike.
