Once a bustling brick pit, Eye Green Nature Reserve has been transformed into a tranquil lake surrounded by reedbeds, wildflower meadows, and willow scrub. The flooded quarry, now teeming with birdlife, is a peaceful spot for walking and nature watching, right on the edge of the Fen Edge village of Eye.
Interpretive panels explain the site’s industrial history and its rich ecology, while surfaced paths make it a pleasant and accessible destination for all ages. The reserve is particularly good for spotting waterfowl, dragonflies, and seasonal wildflowers.
