The Exotic Pet Refuge is a unique sanctuary that provides a safe, permanent home for unwanted, neglected, and rescued exotic animals. Situated in the countryside near Deeping St James, it cares for over 250 animals, from meerkats and lemurs to reptiles, birds of prey, and big cats. The refuge is not a zoo — its primary mission is animal welfare — but it opens to the public on a handful of special open days each year, giving visitors a rare chance to see the animals and learn about their care. All proceeds go directly towards food, housing, and veterinary treatment for the residents.
